Atru

Atru is a monolatristic religion in the Kill Six Billion Demons universe. The dominant religion in Throne, Atru has several billion adherents and can be viewed as a way of life, rather than a strict collection of beliefs. Followers of Atru believe that YISUN is the name of God, who has always existed and never existed.

According to Atru, there are many deities in addition to YISUN, and their works are documented in three holy books, the Psalms, the Spasms, and the Song of Maybe. It is believed these deities were all annihilated during the creation of the multiverse, but adherents of Atru also maintain their energy lives on thanks to two forces: the Flame Perishable, which is YISUN's energy that permeates reality, and the inheritors, who were constructed by the gods to build and maintain creation.

Atru is unique in that its myths are supported by archaeological evidence. By analyzing the god-corpses in Throne and the void, the question of whether the gods existed is resolved, and scholars can focus on determining when and how they lived.
