Synopsis[]
A badly mauled and bandaged Allison wakes up in the Yamga to the smell of Cio's cooking. The Blue Devil updates her on their situation - they're in the outskirts of Throne, waiting for the upheaval of the destruction of Yre to die down, and Mammon and Nadia Om are at war. Lucky Felicia stole all the gold they had taken from the vault, the corpses of Xand and Nixor were thrown overboard, and the bodies of Oscar, Charon and the Cat Master aren't accounted for.
When Allison laments not having even found Zaid after all the trouble of invading the Grand Bank, Cio accuses her of having started a war over an infatuation for a boy. Allison believes this is a show of jealousy after having kissed in the vault, but Cio is livid at having been used to break into it. Before she can stab Allison with her chopsticks, however, Princess Jack Moonshine and Nyave return to the ship's cabin.
Nyave severely admonishes Allison - she is helping her heal because she saved her life, but Nyave has saved hers twice now. White Chain, now clad in a sari and helmetless, concurs with her and proclaims her intention to train Allison in the 49 Empty Palms martial art so she is prepared for future battles.
Allison admits her fears and recklessness, and that she needs all of them to achieve her rescue mission. When Cio asks what makes Zaid special, she claims he isn't, but he doesn't deserve to be kidnapped and should be helped to return home with his family. Upon remembering her own, she breaks down briefly. When she regains her resolution, supported by Nyave, her Atum flares up like white flames.
Later, she and Cio meet at the ship's deck. Confused by the events that led to their first kiss, Allison tries to ask Cio on a date, but the Devil refuses - she is, however, willing to teach her some things, if she asks. After taking a draft from a cigarette to calm her nerves, Allison agrees. Ciocie then apologizes for how she had treated Allison up to this point.
Suddenly, White Chain, who had been standing unnoticed next to them, also speaks up to apologize for treating Allison like a victim, and solemnly proclaims they should get to know each other better since they're bound to stay together for a long time. Before she can launch into a tirade about her long life as an Angel, Cio asks Allison to tell them about her homeworld. She tells them of Los Angeles, and reveals she knows how to cook. As they gaze into the perennial sunset of Throne, they all agree they have a lot to learn from each other.
