Synopsis[]
As the group stands before the Door, Lucky Felicia is called forward to deal with it - but not, as she believed, to pick its lock. Instead, she is to be fed to the giant head sculpted into it, which starts to scream a strident alarm for all Priests of the Count to hear. Although Felicia and Allison try to resist, the "door opener" is hurled into the jaws of the monstrous mechanism, unlocking it, and Allison finally loses herself to the toxic powers granted by Incubus.
Meanwhile, 33 Judicious Rains and 82 White Chain fight viciously at Berand's cafe. Initially, the Root Knight's Empty Palms techniques are matched with the Petal Knight's Leisure Kicks style, but White Chain quickly forgoes any semblance of restraint and attacks with a deadly strike. Judicious Rains tries to surrender, but the enraged Angel keeps hitting the bleeding mercenary, and Judicious Rain's shell would have been destroyed right there and then, were it not for the intervention of Nyave, who interposes herself and makes her realise she is terrifying the populace with her rage. Leaving Judicious Rains to her/their/its fate, White Chain removes her cowl and helmet, and prays for forgiveness. At that point, Nadia Om's Palace of Radiance makes its appearance over Throne.
As the party keeps delving deeper and deeper into Mammon's fortress thanks to Allison's ruthless use of her Key of Kings' powers, her true personality finds herself trapped inside her mind, unable to control her own body and surrounded by all the other aspects of her tortured mental hellscape. Calling upon Incubus to have her control restored, he points out that Allison remains in charge - it's just her sociopathic side, or Power, that has taken over the weaker Moral self.
While she decides to face this problem on her own, Xand and Nixor steal one of the silver coins that Mammon paid to have his own family murdered, which will lead the thieves to the final gate to Ynamon.
