The eighth chapter of the third volume of Kill Six Billion Demons began to be released on October 28, 2017.[1] It includes 12 offerings.
Synopsis[]
After unlocking the final door with the silver coin, the Thieves of Yre find themselves before an apparently empty shaft - expecting invisible traps, Oscar throws 1-11 out of the door, where the Pale Devil unexpectedly lands on an invisible corridor and is immediately cut apart by also invisible scythes. From his ripped backpack, dozens of explosives drop into the transparent maze, and a cloud of acid fireflies escape a broken glass jar to try and light the fuses.
Faced with such dangers, the party attempts to backtrack, only for Allison to threaten to throw as many bodies into the deadly maze as necessary to go through. Fortunately, the Cat Master provides a better solution - to let one of his feline companions scout the path ahead, and have Xand mark the detected traps with paint.
As they're halfway through the Prison of Air, a hidden door in the shaft's wall is revealed, and 000001, Mammon's Emissary, commands the Priests of the Count to martyr themselves trying to stop the intruders from gaining access to Ynamon. A chaotic and grisly fight ensues, in which Allison mantles with her newfound powers and slices through the opposition, and a beleaguered Princess finds the strength of will to become a Red Devil on her own. Nonetheless, it quickly becomes a bloodbath for both sides.
When Cio finally catches up to Allison outside of the maze, she has gone completely insane with power and selfishness. The two start accusing each other, but their fight is interrupted by one of the fireflies finally setting off one of 1-11's fallen dynamite stick bundles. A chain explosion rips through the maze and buries Cio under rubble, but Allison leaves her behind on her quest to kill Mammon on her own.
