Synopsis[]
The gang arrives in Rayuba, fractious and without Cio. At the Ring of Power, Allison checks in as the lone fighter from the crew and is immediately greeted by Rayuba’s bureaucratic process in the shape of giant stack of forms. The paperwork appears to be Allison’s greatest struggle however, as she angrily smashes (literally) through the competition during qualifiers. Tensions rise when Allison brushes aside White Chain, and her teachings, in a fit of reckless frustration.
White Chain is then snatched into the Void by Juggernaut Star. After revealing his status as a slave to Metatron and 2 Michael, Juggernaut Star preaches to White Chain about Allison’s weaknesses and ominously instructs her to do more than just sit by and protect Allison.
Back on Rayuba, Allison nervously tries to apologize to White Chain but is only spoken to in passing, learning that White Chain is also registering for the tournament, regardless of if it means she and Allison may face one another. They do not realize they are being watched by a mysterious Angel.
From high atop her perch overlooking the tournament grounds, Gog-Agog (and her co-host, Gog-Agog) announces the opening ceremonies. On the tournament field itself, Gog-Agog introduces the details and rules of the tournament fighting, explaining the fighting rings and interviewing a few contestants. She pauses her reporting upon the arrival of Paternum Solomon David who initiates the tournament by raising his fist and using his power to ignite the fires within and around the Ring of Power.
Allison rushes into her first fight against Eris-Lo Kai and they both recognize one another from previous run-ins. As she recklessly attacks with all her strength, Eris uses his own magic to turn Allison’s attack back on herself. Eris-Lo then attacks with vacus needles, rendering Allison’s arm useless and causing her to realize, if even only for a moment, that she might be out of her depth. When that moment has passed, Allison returns to attack mode and lashes out only to find Eris-Lo above her and, after a reflexive block, her other arm now also deadened by vacus needles. Seeing that her opponent is on the attack, Allison remembers the foot technique used by White Chain to correct her posture in the alleys behind the Golden Pearl hangout. Wildly applying the same movements (and words) that White Chain used on her, Allison manages to knock Eris-Lo out of the ring and win the first round.
After contemplating her actions, Allison fights wildly through the next rounds. During a break, and as White Chain again tries to convince her to leave the tournament, Allison spots Zaid with Solomon David on a television. Allison rushes outside with White Chain and Nyave in tow where Allison stops on a ledge, looking on at the Ring of Power and Zaid’s location. Nyave begs White Chain to leave Allison be and talks to White Chain about how she sees similarities between her and Allison, and how based on her father’s words she can see a hero in Allison. White Chain, in turn, expresses her doubts about letting a hero rule. At that point, Allison returns from the ledge with reinvigorated determination and a plan.
