Metatron 1,[1] or just Metatron, is a neutron angel,[2] a prime angel and God's scribe.[1] He is the oldest living being in all creation and as such, no angels remember the gods, except for him.[3] Metatron's exact nature and motives are the subject of a certain degree of ambiguity as different characters have presented different re-tellings of his confrontation with Zoss and have given different accounts of his exact role in the current events of the universe. Regardless, Metatron is the most powerful of the angels[4] and his existence unique among his kind, being the last living link to true divinity.[5]
Description[]
Metatron's current form resembles a bald, winged, humanoid statue, lying in the void. He is located a field filled with the dead bodies of other prime angels awaiting reincarnation. Metatron is stony in appearance, with cracks bursting with feathers and eyes. It is unknown if this is his armor or if he uniquely has skin that looks like stone and is bleeding birds.[1] Metatron's sedentary state belies the fact that he very much lucid[6] and is most likely capable of movement if he wishes.[7]
Despite appearances, Metatron is incredibly powerful, moreso than any demiurge by far, and is potentially the most powerful being in existence. Particularly, Metatron possesses all the secret names of God, and knows all the syllables of royalty. In fact, Metatron would be able to wipe Throne of all life with a single word, if not for the old law.[4] Of special note is Metatron's ability to breathe out a living form of puresilver, which he uses to fashion the armor of the thorn knights.[8]
History[]
Metatron was presumably created along with all other angels by Koss during the era of the gods. The exact reason (if there even is one)[9] and events that led to Metatron becoming YISUN's scribe are unknown, but it seems that even in this early age, Metatron already held a great degree of authority and respect.[10]

After Zoss shattered the bodies of the primes, he chased their souls to the Void and learned of Metatron 1. He killed the rest of the primes, but left Metatron 1 alive to torture the 777,777 names of God out of him and create the Keys of Kings.[1] (There is some dispute about this point, Jagganoth instead believes Metatron gave the divine names to Zoss willingly).[11] Unlike all other angels, Metatron never died.[12]
While crippled, he founded the Holy Thorn Knights to sterilize Throne,[13] something that they still want to do,[14] though he later saw the error in this[13] and decided to turn Zaid as The Successor into a new singular ruler of heaven, this time someone worthy of taking the place of YISUN.[15]
Currently, METATRON LIVES[16] motionless on the edge of the field of dead prime angels that are awaiting reincarnation, next to a platform that the Thorn Knights meet at. Though crippled, he seems to be able to move his head and eyes,[13] as well as speak.[17]
The most notable recent action taken by Metatron directly, was speaking to White Chain and offering her a place among the Thorn knights. The younger angel rejected this offer, but later recounted Metatron's voice as incredibly loud, "obliterating thought" and being unable to remember what the prime angel said, besides that fact that it was true.[17]
