YISUN was the name of God. According to 82, YISUN had no equal, and was a being of both eternal existence and non-existence. Before the events of the story, YISUN committed holy suicide, having suffered a life of infinte circularity, one devoid of "meaning or perception". The Division of Self birthed the first Duality and created two new beings: black Yis, a goddess of substance, and white Un, a god of absence.
