YISUN is the name of God. A being who is both timeless and non-existent, YISUN is the embodiment of the ultimate reality[3] in Kill Six Billion Demons.

History

In traditional religious thought, YISUN has always existed, but at the same time never was. He therefore has no true chronology, but is described as having interacted with other beings. To avoid this paradox, some people maintain that YISUN's existence is metaphorical; they posit that the parables which include him actually refer to other gods and YISUN’s name is simply used in their place.

Thus, the only action which can be attributed to YISUN with certainty is his holy suicide. That is, YISUN took his own life at some undocumented point in time when he grew tired of a meaningless existence. It was this act, the first Division, which gave rise to the first Duality and the two deities YIS and UN. These beings warred for seven days and afterward made love for seven hours, creating the Multiplicity of gods.

Description

As a timeless being, YISUN has no true appearance and any images of him are merely representations. However, he is shown as a hairless, pale figure with countless physical features.

The Nature of YISUN

The core theology of the world maintains that YISUN is a consummate liar. While he often offers profound wisdom and possesses an immense appreciation for beauty, YISUN appears to be equally as violent and prone to lying. Consider the following passages in the Psalms and Spasms for example:

Psalms 8:46[4] Spasms 31:12[2]
The conquering king must speak with both his internal tongue of self-love, and his external tongue of violence: he must proclaim himself a king not with a tongue of flesh, but an iron tongue soaked in the blood of his lovers. A conquering king must come with violence in his self of selves. He must splay the guts of his enemy with no weapon but his heartstrings. His lips must spit sweet music that pulverizes his enemies, and his eyes must tell a brain-cleaving tale of loveliness. He must quench the sword of his tongue in the love of his enemies.

Contradictions abound in his teachings, and the paradoxical nature of his lessons tend to leave people confused or frustrated, make them insane, or literally disfigure them, as was the case with Aesma.

Abilities

If he can be said to exist, YISUN is the most powerful being to ever have been. He is said to wield absolute control over reality and burned with an infinite fractal fire. As a testament to his power, he once tipped the entirety of the Wheel on its side with the force of a falling feather.
